River Valley Preferred Distributor Program
This is a program within Shared Health made up of a group of hospitals and clinics. They have come together to combine their knowledge, experience and purchasing power to lower their acquisition costs on medical/surgical supplies.
By negotiating as one, this group reviews and selects one primary distributor which results in significant cost savings. It also means that they have a much larger voice with the selected distributor which helps when working through any issues or challenges that arise. Communication with the distributor is enhanced since the combined size allows for dedicated customer service staff and dedicated sales representation.
The group meets quarterly to accomplish standardization of products, educational sessions, view vendors' newest products, and an opportunity to network with peers.

Cost Analysis / Price Verification
A Cost Analysis is available to current members, as well as potential members making a commitment to examine the program. Cost studies are done using invoices or computer generated reports direct from distributors or manufacturers. Studies can be done in all areas of the facility – medical surgical, laboratory, pharmacy, dietary, maintenance, radiology, office supplies, etc.
A Cost Analysis is completed to identify areas of the Amerinet contract portfolio that can provide maximum savings opportunities for a member. It may also be completed as a price verification to ensure that a member is receiving the correct Amerinet pricing from the vendor.
Three types of analyses are offered: Exact to Exact, Exact to Comparable, & Price Verification. When complete, each analysis goes through a quality and review process to assure accuracy. A final report may be bound for presentation upon request and/or available on CD-ROM. Cost Studies are shared with the CEO or Administrator, as well as the person requesting the study be completed.
